What has been your biggest change in the tourism industry in recent years?
I would say the exponential digitization of the tourism industry market, which has revolutionized all the codes of commercial relations with travelers. Professionals had to rethink their digital strategy on all their tools to ensure their visibility and effective referencing. Cross-media strategy, transmedia, multi-channel… Each one has its own strategy, but the objective remains the same: to respond to the traveler’s new and strong expectations. Indeed, to encourage the act of buying, the company must develop promotional strategies, based on informative and emotional contents, which offer a major place to experience and image. The digital era, the personalization of travel and the growing demands in terms of services have led professionals to digitize all their tools on the web as well as in agencies.
What do you like about your job?
My driving force is the development of my clients around the launch of projects and actions to achieve their objectives. The tremendous digital transformation has opened up enormous opportunities, another way of working, thinking about communication and its tools.
Your best memory in this business?
After a 25-year journey, there are so many of them! To name just one, I would rather say the satisfaction and happiness of accompanying such different customers on a daily basis, but with the same common objective of significant ROI on what we initiate.
The destination you’d take us to?
I discovered Algarve three years ago, where I spent several absolutely magnificent stays. For example, I have a special memory of the fishermen’s village of Olhao, whose Saturday market is fabulous.
If you hadn’t done this job…
I wish I had more than one life! For example, I’m passionate about old real estate.
A personality that inspires you?
I have a deep admiration for the people who fight every day to move things forward and move the lines. Like caregivers, volunteers.
The place where you go on holiday to recharge your batteries?
Heading towards Brittany (north west of France), and more particularly the Gulf of Morbihan, for its wild nature and invigorating air.
Your sources of information?
I’m a very big newspaper consumer (yes, I do resist!). I devour the decoration press, news and daily newspapers, alternately. In my car, my second office, I’m on Radio Classique which I love the morning show, news chronicles and Classical music!
A good dose of positive energy that motivates me every day.
